What Is CBG?
CBG, also called cannabigerol, is known as ‘The Mother of all Cannabinoids’ as it is the parent to CBD, CBC, and THC. But, it’s not a predominant cannabinoid as it is not found in large quantities within the hemp plant itself. As the CEO and Co-Founder of Medterra, I like to refer to CBG as “One of the cannabinoids generating the most excitement amongst researchers today.” The discovery of CBG dates back to the 1960s. Due to the prohibition on cannabis, it is still being studied for potential benefits. Based on research, early signs show CBG may be used to support our body’s fight against a variety of conditions related to chronic illness, aging, and autoimmune conditions. At Medterra, using our newest extraction technology, we created a specialized 1:1 blend that combines strong amounts of both CBG and CBD to improve effectiveness and results. And it works! Customers have used it to help to support a night of more restful sleep as well as improvement in other conditions related to well-being. And have raved about the benefits of using CBG.Does CBG Get You High?
CBG is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid. Meaning, no CBG does not get you high. Since CBG is the parent to THC, the intoxicating, euphoric effects typically found in THC have not developed in CBG. However, CBG does have therapeutic effects as it is a neuroprotectant. A study conducted by the International Journal of Molecular Sciences discovered that CBG reduced inflammation and oxidative stress.
